Klahanie Real Estate: Klahanie is an established 900 acre master planned Issaquah housing real estate development with approximately 3090 residences, including single family homes, condos, and apartments, including Summerwalk at Klahanie. The community is composed of several distinct neighborhoods – according to the Klahanie homeowner’s association website, the largest subdivisions are Audubon Ridge (328 homes) “Division 1” (264 homes) and The Willows (190 homes). There are over 300 acres of common and open spaces, including several parks, approximately 25 miles of trails, small ponds, wetlands, and a large lake. All Klahanie homes have access to the community basketball and tennis courts and 2 heated swimming pools.
The neighborhood of Klahanie is located on the Sammamish Plateau, and borders the city limits of Issaquah. While the residents of Klahanie have addresses in Issaquah, the community is not part of the City of Issaquah. Over the years, there have been discussions and debate about all, or just portions of the community being annexed by either Issaquah or Sammamish.
Klahanie Schools
Klahanie is also home to two public schools, Challenger Elementary and Beaver Lake Middle School, both of which are part of the highly-rated Issaquah School District. Both Klahanie schools are located adjacent to the neighborhood ark.
Challenger Elementary School was built specifically to serve the neighborhood of Klahanie, and as a result, only kindergarten and special education students ride school buses each day. This neighborhood feel contributes to active participation by parents, an important reason families choose to call Klahanie home. Challenger Elementary has a special science fair each spring. Students at each grade level create projects that are judged by neighborhood volunteers and parents, which are demonstrated in a special evening event. The annual Cultural Festival celebrates the wonderful diversity in the school.
Beaver Lake Middle School was one of the District’s first schools to launch a Respect and Responsibility program. Their Leadership Development class is a regional model for youth leadership programs. WASL scores in reading, writing, mathematics, and science are consistently among the highest in Washington State.
To get to the community of Klahanie, from Seattle take I90 East. Exit 17 at East Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE and turn north under the interstate. Shortly after I90, turn right/east on SE Issaquah-Fall City Rd. The main entrance on Klahanie Drive will be on the left in approximately 1.5 miles.
