Against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Sammamish the Sammamish real estate market is quite diverse consisting of single-family homes, condos, townhomes, estate properties, waterfront estates and golf course homes. Many Sammamish homes have water frontage on Lake Sammamish, Pine Lake or Beaver Lake. There are literally dozens of smaller neighborhoods within the city limits. From contemporary single-family homes in traditional neighborhoods – many on large, heavily forested lots – to older farm and ranch homes, there are a plethora of housing options to choose from when moving to the area.
Popular neighborhoods include Trossachs, a master-planned community situated along Duthie Hill Road, running east and west through the south Sammamish Plateau, making it convenient to both Issaquah and Fall City. Trossachs is served by the Issaquah School District, including Cascade Ridge Elementary and Beaver Lake Middle School. There are numerous parks and trails throughout Trossachs and many of the area’s neighborhoods. In fact, some home owners even have real ponds in their backyards! Sahalee is also a popular residential real estate neighborhood with a variety of outdoor recreation and stunning homes.
Sammamish offers a variety of shopping options for residents. Pine Lake Village, Sammamish Highlands Shopping Center and Saffron Plaza are all located along 228th Ave., the street running through the heart of the plateau. The Highlands shopping center is home to Safeway, Bartell Drugs, and Ace Hardware. There are also numerous gas stations, banks, coffee shops all within an easy walking or driving distance from the majority of homes in the area.
There are many options for recreation in the region. Originally a hot spot for Seattle residents in the 1950′s, Lake Sammamish serves as an aquatic playground for all Eastside Seattle residents. The lake is lined with older farming homes, to new, multi-million dollar estates. There is also an 85 acre state park on the southeast part of Lake Sammamish. Of course, popular destinations within the Cascades are an easy drive via Interstate 90.
